The Battle of Algiers

Just had lunch with Lucy and got onto the topic of Secret Cinema, the last one of which I went to was a screening of The Battle of Algiers, a film that came into the limelight again a few years ago when it was shown at the Pentagon (although judging by subsequent strategy you wonder if they fell asleep) . It’s a truly exceptional and changed how I saw cinema though I won’t gush about it (though might do later): instead here’s a short article about it that’s worth a read if you’re interested. (Some spoilers, but it doesn’t really matter). It also has an incredible, perhaps lesser known, Morricone score. Get to it.
